Mr. Russell practices primarily in the areas of workers’ compensation and general civil litigation.

Mr. Russell graduated from Princeton University (B.A. 1989) and the University of North Carolina School of Law (J.D. 1992). Prior to joining the firm, he had been in private practice and had been employed for six years with the Gaston County Public Defender’s Office. He served on the statewide Association of Public Defenders education planning committee.

Mr. Russell is a member of the Gaston County and North Carolina Bar Associations, and the North Carolina State Bar.

In addition to his professional activities, Mr. Russell is a member of the Belmont Abbey parish and a participant in the Bradley Institute lecture series at Belmont Abbey College. He serves as an advisor to the Gaston County Historic Preservation Commission. He has been active in downtown development activities and has been a member of citizens’ committees for the City of Gastonia. He also serves on the Board of Directors for Keep Belmont Beautiful. He is married to Erin Russell, an attorney with Clariant Chemical Corporation in Charlotte. The Russells reside in Belmont with their two children.
