Mr. Sain is a graduate of Gardner-Webb University (B.A., 2008) and University of North Carolina School of Law (J.D. with honors, 2015). During law school, Mr. Sain was a member of the North Carolina Law Review and a notes editor on the First Amendment Law Review. He served as 3L Class Representative to the Student Bar Association. As Vice President of the Carolina Public Interest Law Organization, he planned a charity auction to fund student grants for unpaid public interest internships. Mr. Sain was also a recipient of the Chancellor’s Scholar scholarship, UNC School of Law’s equivalent to the Morehead-Cain Scholarship.

Role at MHC

Mr. Sain practices primarily in the areas of corporate & business law, general civil litigation, and estate planning. He has diverse experience in helping small business owners with buying and selling businesses, protecting themselves with operating agreements and shareholder restriction agreements, and leveraging their contract relationships to minimize legal risks for their business. He also enjoys helping his estate planning clients gain peace of mind and protect the ones they love by implementing wills, trusts, and other necessary documents that are narrowly tailored to each client’s planning needs.

Professional Bio

Mr. Sain serves on the Gaston County Planning Board that functions as an advisory board to the Gaston County Commissioners on a number of planning related matters, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Gaston County, Gaston Together, and the Heart Society of Gaston County. He also enjoys the opportunity to teach aspiring small business owners how to manage legal risks for their business through Gaston College’s Small Business Center (SBC).

Mr. Sain worked as a deputy clerk in the Cleveland County Clerk of Superior Court’s office for 4 years before attending law school. While in law school, Mr. Sain interned for the Hon. Judge Calvin E. Murphy on the North Carolina Business Court, working on complex business litigation cases. He gained experience in shareholder’s rights disputes, trade secrets, discovery & motion practice, and business torts. He also interned for Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions in their General Counsel’s office. He gained diverse exposure to contract negotiations, corporate governance, corporate policy & procedures, and mergers & acquisitions issues. He is a member of the Gaston County, North Carolina, and American Bar Associations and the North Carolina State Bar.

Personal Bio:

Mr. Sain grew up in nearby Boiling Springs, NC. He is married and has two sons.
